I don't think I will make a million dollars selling stuff but it will help me to keep hunting those vintage items. I have sold some bows here locally too but not yet online. I have a etsy shop set up but nothing in it yet. Yep, shipping anxiety again. I couldn't resist these vintage nursery cardboard plaques last summer. I have them listed with the scale. Wouldn't they be adorable in a vintage nursery? Have a great weekend!!

Shipping anxiety
I love vintage finds! But I also have 7 kids, 2 cats, 1 dog, fish and 2 turtles. So when I start to accumulate I usually sell some things. I shop ebay, etsy, and online but I haven't really sold on there because I have shipping anxiety. What is that you ask? I freak out trying to figure how to get boxes, weigh stuff, find the price, etc. etc. Luckily, I have a selling email group here locally that is very active and I do a lot buying and selling on there. But I would love any advice on how to get the shipping thing down to a science. Isn't this scale the cutest? I have it listed on my selling group with the next items.

Thanks for your kind words about the treehouse. I'm enjoying your vintage finds. I don't have advice about shipping, but I adore your scale and nursery cutouts.
Have a super weekend!
I don't blame you! I hate shipping things. I procrastinate because I worry. The post office is BRUTAL with breakables. I had 4 packages smashed in two months time. USPS will send you free priority boxes through their website. I recommend tons of bubble wrap for anything fragile.Someone told me local plumbing supply companies will give you free air bubble things if you ask because they throw them away anyways. I don't have a scale so when I figure shipping I either figure it based on the flat rate box, or I will look at other items posted online that are similar and figure see what they are charging for shipping.
Hope that helps some!
I sell on ebay and yes, shipping is a pain no matter what. But it really is the best way to make money, in my opinion. However, I sell very few breakables, mainly just kids' clothes. Scales are well worth the investment. You can plug in the weight and make the bidders calculate their own shipping. I have my shipping cost down to a science and include enough money to cover my packing expenses. I always print labels and ship through paypal. I'd never stand in line at the post office with all those boxes. Our post office has a box drop so I drop them there. But you can request online for USPS to pick them up right at your door if you want. Good luck!
Thanks for all the advice. I am working on trying to figure it out. I have been dragging my feet to do it and with spring coming I am feeling the house being a little cramped so I need to get to work! Have a great weekend everybody!
OMG, I found you over at The Cottage Muse, and wanted to welcome you to Blog Land. I buy off eBay but I'm too scared to sell for the same reason. I don't want to bodge up the shipping rate. I thought I was alone in my fears. Anyway, welcome to Blogging. Hope you enjoy. I love vintage too.
cheers,

Love the vintage scale! I have one very similar...mine is carnation pink and the top part in longer and wider. It has the small graphics on it though. It's great for photographing infants. :) Thanks for visiting my blog and leaving a comment! Come back soon!
